I observed, smelled, touched and applied the wax to my son's mustache the first time he used it. It has a slight citrus scent that dissipates after approximately two minutes or so. You really need to work it in with your finger tips aggressively so that the wax is melted in. The shaping is amazing, . All around a very good product, and gives excellent results for the man that wants to shape his stache. The directions are on the back of the tin can, it comes with a little spatula to scoop it out, you need approximately a dime worth to work between your fingers then apply and shape.
